We might not be the best people, but we’re not the worst.

It’s the Wimbledon finals this weekend, so I thought this would be a suitable neon poster to mark the occasion. It’s the creepy scene from Strangers on a Train where Guy Haines (Farley Granger) is being stalked by Robert Walker’s murderous Bruno.
At a tennis match the crowd watch the ball play back and forth while Bruno remains motionless, staring menacingly across the court at Guy.
A classic Hitchcock moment - can you spot him in the crowd?
On the campaign trail, there is never a cookie cutter day; but, one thing is certainly consistent.
No one’s happy.
Unfortunately, we are challenged by the ever growing apathy of the sensible American; and as a result are forced to watch the deterioration of the democratic process. It’s a brutal cycle.
I think Fat Bastard so accurately captures it when he said: “I eat because I’m fat..I’m fat because I eat.”
When does it end?
Mario Cuomo’s 1984 speech at the DNC, while inspiring, should be a reminder that - yes - here we are again. Twenty-six years later and his talking points could very well be Obama’s or Rick Perry’s.
So, does that mean we’re doomed?
No, it means..life is cyclical.
